The Mapsion Festival is an international videomapping festival held annually in Finland at and around the Vuojoki Mansion (the location has changed starting from the 2025 edition). The Vuojoki Mansion, built in 1836, is a renowned Empire-style villa, considered one of the most beautiful in Finland. Participants have the opportunity to showcase their artwork on its main facade, which is 30 meters long and 15 meters high. This particular work was selected for the 2023 edition.
This video mapping relies entirely on generative art for its visual content. Through the exclusive use of algorithms, I generated all the projected animations, characterized by an organic and mathematically defined aesthetic. It's an exploration of how generative art techniques can innovatively shape the aesthetic for large-scale architectural projections.
